Billing terms
PDFBolt bills monthly only, as its pricing page states. KimiDoc offers monthly or annual with two months free, and prices in USD and INR.
Where it can run
PDFBolt is cloud-only. KimiDoc's engine also installs inside your network under a per-server licence, for the documents that cannot leave.

When PDFBolt is a fine choice
It is a well-built modern API with a generous free tier, clear documentation and honest pricing, and if your volume fits 100 documents a month you could be happy on either product without paying anything at all. The comparison starts to matter at paid volume, when annual billing matters to procurement, and when the documents cannot leave your infrastructure.
Switching is an afternoon
- Swap the endpoint and the key. Both are JSON-over-REST; send HTML to /v1/render with an X-Api-Key header.
- Map the options. Page size, margins, landscape and ready-signalling all exist as documented render options.
- Move repeated documents into stored templates. Design once with {{placeholders}} and sample data, send only data per render, batch up to 40,000 in one job.
